About Connor Bleakley

Connor Bleakley is an associate attorney at CLG with a practice focusing on civil cases including constitutional rights litigation as well as workers’ compensation and personal injury cases―areas of the law which intrigue him due to their many unique statutes and complexities.

Growing up in both Austin, Texas and Virginia Beach, Connor’s family, friends and teachers often predicted that he would be a lawyer because of his fascination with politics, affinity for talking with people, and ability to passionately argue his side of any conversational topic. He realized that his lifelong interest in public policy and well-constructed arguments indeed meant he should apply to law school.

After attending The College of William and Mary as an undergraduate, he continued his studies at The College’s Marshall-Wythe Law School in an intensive program where he earned both his Juris Doctorate and Master of Business Administration (J.D./M.B.A.) in four years.

During law school, Connor wrote for the Bill of Rights Journal, competed with the Trial Team where he served as Finance Chair, and competed with the Moot Court Team where he served as Travel Justice and Research Justice. He was a skilled Moot Court competitor, qualifying for the semi-finals in various competitions and winning Best Brief. Such success in Moot Court led to his induction into the Order of the Barristers, a national honorary society that encourages oral advocacy and brief writing skills.

Initially he thought of practicing corporate law, which is one reason he studied for both his J.D. and M.B.A. simultaneously. However, after a summer internship with a Fortune 500 financial services company, he realized big business law didn’t suit him: “It moved too slowly, and I realized that I would rarely see the inside of a courtroom to do what I do best: argue my case,” he said.

As a summer associate at CLG, Connor found his legal niche. “There are a lot of people who need help navigating the law; I’ve seen it first-hand both personally and professionally,” he explained. “Working with individuals who have been wronged and guiding them through our intricate legal system to seek justice is where I can make the most impact. I like to argue and prove that what I’m saying is right―which is exactly what the attorneys at CLG do best. It’s exciting to file a motion or present our case before a judge to make an immediate difference in our clients’ lives,” he explained.

“What I like best about working in personal injury and workers’ compensation law is that there is no up-front charge or payment for legal services for these two types of clients – the only way CLG gets paid is if we win the case,” Connor stated. “It’s a great feeling to be able to help and advise people who really need it.”

Connor is an accomplished distance runner, having completed three marathons and, as he puts it, “about 15 half-marathons”—he’s run so many that he lost count! As a new Richmonder, he’s taking every opportunity to explore the city and experience the great restaurants and events our city hosts. And just in case he finds some spare time, he recently bought a piano and is learning how to play it.
