Margherita Marannano is Commonwealth Law Group’s Operations Assistant, working closely with our Chief Operations Officer, Brian Dunn, to make sure the bottom line is balanced, all bills are paid, and all client disbursements are finalized promptly.
A 2016 graduate of VCU, Margherita (or “Mags” as we usually call her) got her degree in Business Administration with a minor in Finance; she enjoys putting those skills to work for CLG. She has the ultimate customer service experience: waiting tables throughout high school and college provided her with great insight into human nature and taught her that the customer is always right.
“I’ve always been a numbers person, so I love that I get to do math every day,” Margherita explained. She shares a unique perspective: “We know that 2+2 = 4. That’s a fact. There’s no disputing it. I like that about numbers – if something isn’t adding up at the bottom of a column, you can go back through it and find the error. I wish everything in life were as clear and simple as math is!”
Fluent in Italian and with intermediate skills in Spanish, Margherita is able to handle incoming calls from Spanish-speaking potential and current clients. As a child, her first language was Italian, which she learned from her parents and grandparents. Though she doesn’t remember “life before speaking English,” her parents assure her that she spoke only Italian until she was five years old and learned English when she went to kindergarten in Midlothian.
“Working at CLG provides a lot of perspective. Many of our clients have suffered tragic injuries or accidents that will impact the rest of their lives,” she said. “It helps me realize that I don’t have anything to complain about. If you’re healthy and employed, you’ve got a lot to be thankful for.”
After work, Margherita enjoys cooking, baking and spending time with family. She especially likes to spoil her five nieces and nephews, who light up her life.
