About Markila Hutcheson

Markila Hutcheson is a workers’ compensation paralegal at Commonwealth Law Group. She received her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from VCU in December 2017, and is currently working on her master’s degree in Criminal Justice.
“I knew from the time I was a kid that I wanted a law career,” says Markila. “I loved watching Law & Order and CSI: Miami, and I always thought I could be someone like that who helps people.” Markila grew up in La Crosse, Virginia, and still loves going back home to hang out with her mother. That small-town feeling is evident in the way Markila interacts with her colleagues and clients — she’s always ready with a smile and wants to hear how your day has been. “My favorite thing about working at Commonwealth Law Group is knowing that every day, no matter what I do, I’ve helped someone during their most difficult time,” Markila explains.
Prior to starting at Commonwealth Law Group in 2019, Markila worked in medical billing, which gives her a unique insight into the insurance and workers’ compensation process. When she’s not at work, Markila loves hanging out at home with her pet leopard gecko, Geico. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends.
